Allergies That Can Be Deadly

There are a number of allergies that can cause serious illness to a person. If a person shows any side effects after eating a particular food or being stung by a bee, they should be tested to confirm an allergy. A person needs to be aware of what foods to avoid. A person may be allergic to food, animals or plants. Some of the more common allergens include:

*shell fish allergies

*bee stings

*peanut allergies

*yeast

An exposure to one of these allergens can cause serious medical problems. A person may not be aware they have ingested or been exposed to one of these lethal allergens. An allergy attack can come on when least expected. One of the most serious symptoms associated with exposure to one of these allergens, is the possibility of a person’s throat swelling closed. This would cut off their breathing and could cause death if not treated immediately. This condition is referred to as an anaphylactic shock and requires medical treatment. The above mentioned allergens are the often the most serious and most likely to lead to anaphylactic shock. A person who has one of these known allergies should have an epi pen on hand for emergencies.

Some other symptoms include difficulty breathing, which could possibly trigger an asthma attack. Hives or an itchy rash are also common reactions when a person who is allergic to something. A person may also experience minor face swelling if they eat a food, they are allergic to. These milder symptoms can be treated with an allergy medicine like Benadryl.
